📣School Picture Makeups This Wednesday

Makeup pictures for any students who did not get them or who need them retaken will take place this Wednesday, December 9th. You should have received a form and handout for these this week if you are in the hybrid model. If you are online and would like to retake your photos, please call the school this week at 459-7921.

📣PTO Executive Board Voting

Cast your vote! Thank you for submitting your nominations for officers for our Parent-Teacher Organization Executive Board. The nominated officers are running uncontested, but we still need you to cast your vote to meet requirements of PTO By-Laws. Please vote at https://forms.gle/3yMx5Q5rUPyA7MAb9 - thank you! The form will close on Monday afternoon at 5:00pm.

📣McGruff Christmas Drive - Donate Through 12/14

We are currently collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys and non-perishable foods for the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office’s 1st Annual McGruff Christmas Toy and Food Drive. We have boxes placed in the front office for donations. Please consider donating and helping a family in need this holiday season! Shout out to our School Resource Officer, Deputy Josh Robertson, for coordinating and planning this effort. We are so fortunate to have him and his heart for others in our school family!

📣Curbside Meals for Christmas:

Claremont Elementary will be serving curbside "bulk-packaged" meals to CCS families during the Christmas break.  This service will be available at ALL Catawba County School sites.  Dates for curbside meals and details are as follows:

  • Friday, December 18th - 8:30-10:00 AM.  This will allow for two (2) meals per day for a total of five (5) days per eligible child for the dates of December 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, and 25th.

  • Monday, December 28th - 8:30-10:00 AM.  This will allow for two (2) meals per day for a total of six (6) days per eligible child for the dates December 28th, 29th, 30th, and 31st as well as January 1st and 4th.

📣Free and Reduced Lunch Form - We Need You!

Claremont Parents: We need your help!  As you know, Claremont receives Title I funding which pays for teaching positions and teaching and learning materials and tools that your child uses every day. This funding pays for three teachers and support staff in our building, and it is given based on our school’s free and reduced lunch percentages. We are currently below last year’s numbers by approximately 9%. We need all of our families who think they may be eligible to take just a few moments to complete the application form at lunchapplication.com. To see if you are eligible for free or reduced price lunch, please visit https://bit.ly/freelunchces. Thank you for helping to protect our school!

We look forward to seeing you online or in the building this week! Go Bears!
