The Bear Necessities for Families - Week of January 11th

Good evening, Claremont Families! Welcome to The Bear Necessities for Families for the week of January 11th.

Please be reminded that all individuals on campus must bwwear a face covering at all times.  Thank you!

📣 Spelling Bees for each classroom and online will take place this week! Good luck to all of our students!

📣 Report Cards will begin being sent home on Wednesday for all students who are learning face-to-face.  All Online Catawba students can start picking up their report cards from the school on Wednesday.

📣 COVID Reminders: Please be reminded that in any of the following scenarios, you must stay home and immediately contact our school nurse, Rebekah Sprinkle, and your child’s teacher:

1) Child or family member has tested positive for COVID-19

2) Child has been in contact with an individual who is positive for COVID-19

3) Child or family member currently has symptoms of fever, new cough, loss of taste or smell.

If any of these scenarios apply to you at any time, your child should not return to school without consulting with Nurse Sprinkle or a doctor with written permission for the date of return. We have been very fortunate to have had no in-school spread of COVID-19 at Claremont, and we need your help to keep it that way!  You may contact Nurse Sprinkle at rebekah_sprinkle@catawbaschools.net.

📣 NC Check-In Testing will be coming up the first week of February for all of our students in grades 3-6, both face-to-face and online. These tests help to show your child and their teacher how they are learning and areas they have room to grow. We encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of taking these tests seriously so we can ensure they are achieving high levels of learning!

📣 Free and Reduced Lunch Form

Claremont Parents: We still need your help!  As you know, Claremont receives Title I funding which pays for teaching positions and teaching and learning materials and tools that your child uses every day. This funding pays for three teachers and support staff in our building, and it is given based on our school’s free and reduced lunch percentages. We are currently below last year’s numbers by approximately 9%. We need all of our families who think they may be eligible to take just a few moments to complete the application form at lunchapplication.com. To see if you are eligible for free or reduced price lunch, please visit https://bit.ly/freelunchces. Thank you for helping to protect our school!

Thank you for your continued support of our school! See you this week online or in person - Go Bears!
