📣 Evan’s Comfort Care Kits

Evan G., a senior at Bunker Hill High School, enjoys doing community service work and loves helping others.  Last year he spearheaded a blanket drive for the homeless. He was able to collect over 200 blankets that he personally handed out at the Hickory Soup Kitchen, the Family Care Center and the Open Door Homeless Relief Program.  Since COVID-19 Evan has continued to do small community service work such as picking up trash at Lake Lookout, cutting up fallen trees after storms at different neighbors homes, and even started participating in the pen pal program with Catawba County Meals on Wheels.  Evan would like to complete one more big community service project before he graduates.  After speaking with DSS workers and the Foster Care and Adoptive Parent Recruiter/Trainer for Catawba County, he was informed that they are in need of items for emergency bags for children & teens who get removed from their homes abruptly.  Evan is calling them "COMFORT CARE KITS".  Evan has already purchased large drawstring backpack type bags and is hoping to fill each of them with your donations.  Donation items may be brought to the school anytime between January 25th and February 19th.
